TEAM LEADERS*
What we are offering:
1. Interesting leadership experience
We are offering a challenging position as a team leader in an international and interdisciplinary project which combines cutting-edge academic methodologies with applications to real-world problems. The position involves working with strategic decision-makers in private and public sector organisations on resource allocation or strategy-related problems and leading a multinational and interdisciplinary team.
2. Intensive methodological training
The TL will participate in the three-week training phase in decision-analytic methodologies including a 9-day intensive training course given by leading international experts which is worth more than €5,000 / person. 3. Reference via MARA publications
Provided that the projects’ academic output is of a quality to be published, the TL can participate as an author in the final publications of MARA.
4. Good work-life balance
MARA 2006 is designed to offer participants significant learning experience and important applicable analytical qualifications. At the same time, regular cultural/social events organised by the MARA team shall ensure a good work-life balance.
5. Financial compensation package adjusted to German/Berlin living standards
As MARA is a non-profit project, compensation packages will cover rent (3 months) and a salary to cover basic living costs in Berlin (for the period of 2 months of applied research). For further details, please send us an email.
What we expect:
1. Availability
MARA starts on 17 June 2006 and ends with the final conference on 15 September 2006. The MARA TL position is a full-time position. Availability throughout all three phases of MARA 2005 will significantly increase the probability of a candidate being accepted as MARA team leader.
2. Methodological openness
Candidates should be able and willing to experiment and apply new methodologies from decision analysis to real-world problems, i.e. it is not a 'standard' consulting project.
3. Commitment to high quality
It will be the TL’s responsibility to maximise team efforts to make a significant contribution to the client organisation and generate a high quality academic output.
4. Ability to lead an intercultural/interdisciplinary team
To ensure that the characteristics of the different team members work in a complementary and effective way, the TL should act as a bridge across disciplines, cultures and languages. Previous experience in leading teams and project management will be highly advantageous.
5. Language skills
Candidates should have excellent written and spoken knowledge of German and English. English will be the main working language within the MARA teams.
