We are offering MARA participants:

  • the opportunity to enhance their methodological knowledge about a variety of decision-analytic methods, including multiple criteria decision analysis, risk modelling and decision conferencing,

  • a challenging multidisciplinary and international work experience in one of the MARA research teams in cooperation with organisations in the private and public sector,

  • the opportunity to create university-relevant output (e.g. final thesis, term paper, academic article...),

  • assistance with organisational/logistic issues in relation to your arrival and stay in Berlin

  • and spending an exciting summer in Berlin (during the 2006 World Cup).

 

Requirements for applicants:

  • Interest in decision analytic methodologies and their application to real-world cases
  • Fluency in English
  • Availability between 17th June and 15th September 2006

 

Advantageous for the application:

  • Excellence in previous work/projects/degrees
  • Experience with interdisciplinary and international work or study environments
  • Proven analytical skills (e.g. projects carried out in the area of strategic consultancy)
  • Interest in writing an academic paper/thesis during MARA 2006
  • Previous experience with any decision science/analysis methodologies or related topics

 

The MARA participants will be selected based on the following three core values of MARA:

    2. We are looking for participants who strive for excellence in all their activities. The better the previous academic achievements of the potential participant, the higher the probability that the applicant will be accepted.

    3. We are looking for participants with international experience, who are used to work in interdisciplinary environments.

    4. The MARA research teams will solve “real” problems with our partner organisations. Therefore, high-profile work experience (e.g. during projects for consultancies or any other strategic projects) during which the potential participant has demonstrated analytical skills will be highly advantageous in the application process.
