PROJECT OUTLINE
MARA starts with a Training Phase (17th June - 4th July) providing methodological skills to participants and some interested partners. The training phase includes a 9-day intensive training course in decision analysis, conducted by three international experts in the area (Prof. Larry Phillips, LSE; Prof. Detlof von Winterfeldt, University of Southern California; Prof. Ralph Keeney, Duke University).
Within the framework of the MARA Strategy Session on 5th July, Prof. Larry Phillips (LSE), Prof. Jobst Fiedler (Hertie School of Governance) and Prof. Michael Mirow (TU Berlin) as well as experts from the MARA partner organisations, will explore different approaches to strategy development with MARA participants.
During the Applied Research Phase (5th July - 10th September) seven MARA research teams will use decision analysis to aid decision-makers of the MARA partner organisations with strategic decisions. In close collaboration with the MARA partners, decision-analytic models will be constructed facilitating strategic decision-making.
During the Documentation Phase (11th September - 15th September) the MARA project results will be presented to the wider public at the final conference in Berlin. Patrons, academics, representatives from partner organisations, and research teams will meet to discuss the MARA findings. The results will be published in a special issue of the journal "Decision Analysis" (tbc).
